UPI Payment flow
Client scans a QR, pays. submits the UPI transaction ID. Freelancer reviews and approves = no payment gateway fees.
Stop & settle
Client can stop the project at any milestone if budget runs out. The system auto-calculates the amount owed for work done so far.
Delay flagging
Freelancer can flag a delay with a reason. It appears on the client's dashboard so there are no surprises - just transparency.

Freelance OS started as a personal tool to manage client projects without the overhead of bloated PM software. Most tools are built for agencies or large teams — not for a single developer managing three clients from a tier-3 city.
The payment system is built around how Indian freelancers actually get paid — UPI, transaction IDs, manual verification. No Stripe, no dollar accounts, no 3% gateway fees.

Data we collect
We collect only what's necessary to run the service - your name, email adress, and the project/milestone data you create. No tracking pixels, no analytics that follow you across websites.
How we use it
Your data is used solely to operate your account and projects, We do not sell, rent, or share your information with any third party for marketing purpose.
Storage
All data is stored in PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. UPI transaction IDs are stored as plain text for payment verification purposes only.
Third parties
We use Resend for transactional email (OTPs, notifications). No advertising networks, no social media trackers, no third-party analytics are present on this platform, only vercel analytics for improving out service.
Your rights
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing (click email us button above). Data deletion is processed within 7 business days.
